When geological software company, Paradigm came to us, they had a problem. Geo-seismic software is boring. How could they inspire both potential customers and employees alike that seismic software could be exciting, futuristic, even sexy?
We got a crash course in Geo-seismic surveys, data, and software, and boiled all the tech jargon and methodology into one sentiment. The Edge.
We realized that what Paradigm's software really provided was the Edge over the competition. The ability to find the oil and natural gas before the competitor does. To see what they can't.
We created a futuristic, cinematic movie trailer that would portray Paradigm as the high-tech, high-stakes company that does more than just data. They provide The Edge.
The trailer was a smashing success for Paradigm. It was played on a loop on a 200 inch plasma screen at the 2012 AAPG Convention, and helped draw a ton of attention away from their biggest competitor, Haliburton. We subtitled it in Chinese, Arabic and Russian for their international markets, and Paradigm created a microsite that served as an impressive landing page for new customers.
During the launch of the video, Paradigm was in acquisition talks with Apax and JMI Equity. We were told that the video was shown during the meeting and helped to seal the deal, in which Paradigm was acquired for $1 Billion.
Paradigm's VP of Marketing, David Barrett, was thrilled with the outcome of the video and his time working with Mischievious Studios:
“I am very pleased with the work that Christiano and the entire team at Mischievious Studios provided to Paradigm. Having the opportunity to work with them on set was a fantastic experience. We were very impressed with the finished product which exceeded our expectations and is helping us with both customers and partners. We made the right decision by selecting Mischievious as our partner. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship, and I highly recommend their company and work.”
